IS IT WORTH LOSING WEIGHT?
IS IT WORTH LOSING WEIGHT?
This paper in the british Medical Journal BMJ from Sweden argues that the answer isn't clear. Their peculiar viewpoint is based on the fact they're looking at Obstructive Sleep Apnoea. They start by pointing out there's little evidence that losing weight helps with the disease. Then they show that a low energy diet (joules, not calories) confers definite benefit in OSA symptoms. They end by arguing that we need longer term data to know for certain that getting fat men who snore to lose weight is actually good for them.
