Dr Jean-Pierre Lin MB ChB MRCP PhD, Evelina Children's Hospital and Mr Richard Selway BA MB BChir MA MRCP FRCS MMedSci BSC King's College Hospital, made national news earlier this year after performing pioneering surgery on a 5 year old, to fit an electronic implant to help conquer a debilitating brain condition. The device stimulates the brain and helps stop involuntary muscle contractions and movements caused by severe disabilities. The patient weighed just 12kg when he was operated on at the Evelina Children's Hospital in London in an attempt to help his severe dystonia.
